According to my grandpa, Morse Code allowed the military to send confidential messages during World War II. He knew the basics of Morse Code before enlisting in the army, but through further training became an expert at understanding messages as well as picking up hidden messages throughout normal communication. He told me that one of the many creative ways to communicate a hidden Morse Code message is through ones blinking pattern while talking to you. He said that it made sending and decoding messages a lot more complicated, but it allowed for much more intricate communication. Since attaining a job in decoding allowed my Grandpa to stay away from the front lines during the war, it made him enjoy his deployment much more.
