Manpower Activity

Madison, WI

When I searched for jobs in Madison, eleven jobs were found. Of them, two were permanent jobs, one was temporary, and the remaining eight were contract based. There were a few warehouse labor jobs that all paid around $10-$12 an hour. A small amount of jobs actually required a bachelor's degree. Some common qualities that were required were hard-working, diligent, a motivated to get things done. I didn't see any jobs that specifically required any technology background.

Kohler, WI

Kohler is not my home town, but it is in Sheboygan county. Only one job result is posted on the website and it is a Customer Service Agent. It is a contract position that requires an associates degree or higher and also atleast two years experience in customer service. Requirements are that you must have a pleasant phone demeanor and fully proficient in all Microsoft products.

Tuscon, AZ

I chose Tuscon because I have family that lives there so it has always been a possibility that I move there. There were five jobs posted, four of them being contract positions and one being permanent. The job that required the most technology knowledge was the Data Entry Warehouse Assistant. This position requires the worker to be able to efficient input data into the system and accurately process customer orders. Only one job (Realtor) required an education or license for the field. A four year degree was not required for this job but was strongly preferred.

Overall, a lot of these jobs seemed like they were undesirable for me. Many of them were strictly warehouse labor/truck driving/custodian type work. Not many of them actually required a lot of technology skills other than being able to use Microsoft Office.
