When I searched under all three cities, Madison, Oak Creek, and Chicago, I was surprised as to what was listed for jobs. In Madison, there were more temporary jobs than in Chicago, as Chicago offered a lot of contracted openings. Most of the job types in Madison were customer service types, where interaction with clients was required as well as basic technology skills. Nothing fancy seemed to be required for the types of jobs listed in Madison.
When I searched my hometown, Oak Creek, only one permanent job was listed which was a lab technician that only required basic science knowledge that was attainable through high school. I think this is because my city is a smaller suburb outside Milwaukee, where more jobs were probably available.
Looking at Chicago, there were many contracted jobs offered, though many were third shift and did not pay much. I only saw a few that listed they would like a graduate to fulfill their position, as most only listed requirements that were basic skills such as communication and problem-solving. Though I think Chicago might be a good place for me to live after graduation, I do not think I would take any of the jobs listed as I will be working hard for a degree and these jobs do not pay much.
