Minneapolis, MN- Minneapolis had a variety of jobs and one name I kept seeing come up was Comcast and a few other telecommunication companies. I believe that these came up because right now telecommunication companies are trying to expand there networks rapidly. With Manpower being a part time work website this is a perfect opportunity for them to find people to help build there networks in a certain city and then leave them when they are done.
Madison, WI- Wisconsin seemed to have a lot of warehouse and labor intensive jobs. The reason I believe this is true is because there are a lot of manufacturing companies located in the Wisconsin area. They need a lot of part-time and seasonal work. Especially the brewing companies and farming companies around fall. These jobs were some of the highest paid I saw in the two Midwest states I looked at as well. This shows how important manufacturing jobs are for the economy of Madison.
Palo Alto, CA- All of the jobs in California revolved around programming and software. Go figure since Palo Alto is known as Silicon Valley and it is were most tech companies and tech start ups are located. This area had the highest paying jobs and the reason for this is because they have they wealthiest economy. Palo Alto is all about disrupting the current system, where as the Midwest is more about staying with the old and improving manufacturing processes. I hope to one day be in California and able to disrupt the current system.
