Throughout he semester I have changed my writing style
dramatically. As I became more aware of my online presence I became more
restricted on the different things I post. I would double check and check my
spelling and grammar and made sure my thoughts were better thought out. In
addition I showcased what I had learned from each week more and more.
It’s interesting to look at the information you present as
you learn more and more. It changes the tone you talk about topics and ideas. I
really think my writing also evolved into shorter yet concise and very to the
point arguments. In a blog post you tend to have less space, or you want to
keep it shorter, and get to your point in a more straight- forward matter
because online attention is much shorter.
However, this writing was also very different form the more
academic writing of the two papers. I preferred these blog posts to the papers,
because I felt I could write more freely and include more of my own opinion. It
was a lot less technical so I was more able to express my thoughts a bit more
openly.
With the final assignment I will better combine the two
thoughtful and backed up styles of writing. This final assignment will be very
interesting as it will be insightful, but much more concise than some of my
regular paper assignments.
