Madison, WI
When I searched for jobs in Madison, I found that there are
11 potential jobs in the area. 2 of these jobs are permanent while only 2 are
temporary. The rest are listed as contract jobs. The required skills for the
jobs include making and packaging boxes, driving trucks, paying attention to
detail, and reliability. The jobs that reported the pay rates had it above
minimum wage and some salaries were in the $50-60k range.
Kenosha, WI
Searching my hometown yielded 1 more job than Madison, coming
in at 12. Only one of the jobs came up as a permanent position, while the rest
were contracts agreements. The required skills for these jobs are similar to
those jobs in Madison. Skills needed would be experience in the shipping and
packaging fields, operating a furnace, making collection calls, and proficient
in using excel. The majority of the jobs offered had an hourly salary upwards
of $10/hr.
New York City, New York
I’ve always wanted to go visit New York City and maybe live
there so I figured I would check out the job options there. Unsurprisingly, there
are many more jobs offered in this massive city with a total coming to 31.
These jobs all varied with a decent portion being temporary, permanent and
contract. The majority of these jobs are consulting jobs requiring sales and
marketing experience. The salaries also have increased a decent amount compared
to Kenosha and Madison due to higher expenses of living.
After searching for jobs in these locations, I got results I
was kind of expecting. Madison and Kenosha were geared more towards the jobs requiring
less experience and had manufacturing type skill requirements. When looking at
NYC, it was more large firms seeking employment and often had experience as a
prerequisite.
