Self Evaluation

After taking the time to proof read my blog posts from this year, I have come to the realization that blogging is very similar to face-to-face conversation.  It serves as an avenue to discuss and communicate with your peers, without having to be in the same place.  The way I convey my ideas through the blogs uses the same thought process as if I were having face-to-face conversation. Thus, I think my blog posts relate much more to the way I present myself in person, than formal speeches or writing.

With that being said, someones writing style can be seen through all writing samples, regardless of the formality.  After peer reviewing my classmates formal papers as well as scanning over their weekly blogs, I have realized that their writing styles are consistent throughout. Though the writing styles are similar, I believe that formal papers are a better showcase of writing talent.  These papers allow us to display our formal writing ability, which displays a more useful sense of writing ability.
