Cell Phone

Since my dad is a mail man, there is not much technology involved in his work place. He said that the most important piece of technology that he uses is his cell phone. They use them to communicate to other mail men out that day to see who will need help finishing a route. His bosses also contact him this way to let him know if he will have to work overtime to assist another route.

He said that this was not something he had to learn how to use as he already had a cell phone prior to working at the post office. He did say that it makes it easier, though, because instead of going all the way back to the office to be sent out again, he gets the message before heading back and can go right out and meet whoever he needs to help.

I think it is interesting to see that unlike most jobs nowadays, my dad's involves very little technology which is very weird when you see nearly every other job advancing in that area.
