Computer

Over Thanksgiving break, I asked my dad what was the most important information technology for his job. He works with insurance claims, and he picked computers, but more specifically laptops. My dad uses the portability of laptops to his advantage. With a job that relies so much on the internet, my dad has the opportunity to bring his laptop home, and work from home a couple days a week. Also, if he ever ran out of vacation days, he could easily bring his laptop on the trip and work from virtually everywhere.

I asked him how insurance claims were handled before computers, and even though that was before he became employed in his field, he said it was much more time consuming and not as practical. Information technologies are meant to ease this, so I thought it was very fitting.
