Oversharing: Presentations of Self in the Internet Age (Ben Agger)

For this assignment, I considered three possible candidates to preform a book review on: Oversharing: Presentations of Self in the Internet Age, Digital Labor: The Internet as Playground and Factory, and The End of Intelligence: Espionage and State Power in the Information Age.

In the end, I ended up choosing Oversharing: Presentations of Self in the Internet Age primary because by reading the description of the book, it seems very relatable not only to myself but many people in this day and age. I also like that certain social media (Facebook or Twitter) are present in the description because that shows that it is generalized to a younger crowd which then makes me feel as though I'll enjoy the read more.

My process in choosing between these three candidates basically came down to which I and others could easily relate to because then it'll be more interesting for me to read.  The other two of my candidates definitely seemed interesting however they seemed to be a lot more generalized for my liking which was not really what I was looking for.

I could not find Oversharing: Presentations of Self in the Internet Age in either ProQuest or Project Muse when I searched for it.  When researching this book more I will have to use other sites in order to find better reviews.  Overall, I am satisfied with the book I chose because I this it will be a great read for me seeing as I am on social media a lot.
