Book Selection: It's complicated : the social lives of networked teens

Through searching the internet for books relating to the topics of this class, I came across three that seemed very interesting to me: #scandalBeyond texting : the fine art of face-to-face communication for teenagers, and It's complicated : the social lives of networked teens. They all had very good reviews, which made narrowing it down more difficult. Although my first choice probably would have been #scandal, I was unable to find any scholarly sources about it, so I figured that for the purposes of this project I should probably choose one of the other books. I decided upon It's Complicated: the social lives of networked teens. Through Pro-Quest I was able to find good scholarly sources dealing with this book, and the content really interests me. The book is about how teenagers today rely so heavily on social media and the digital networks and communities that they form. I think it will be a very interesting book to read, and it relates really well to the class as well.

  1. I actually ran into this book when I was researching on my other books. Sounds like it will be an interesting read and I can't wait to see your presentation on it. The book I was most interested in also didn't have as many scholarly sources but I think no matter what book you pick on this topic it will still be a good read!
