I was a bit confused while reading Bush's articles when trying to picture a memex. At first I was picturing it as a tablet until Bush mentioned it was an actual desk. That's when I began to get confused as I was trying to visualize it. I decide to google image memex to help myself out a bit on getting a clearer picture, and after seeing it now I understand the physical aspect of a memex.
I was pretty surprised as to how accurate Bush was to the new advances today. But I do believe as stated in the symposium article, that Bush more so created the future through influence (instead of predicting it).
I watched a YouTube video showing and describing the way in which a memex works when an individual is using it. I found it really interesting because since I was confused as to how a memex actually looked, I was very interested in seeing it in action. That is why I decided to use a YouTube video. I did find the process quite confusing and complex, but I believe that is only because I'm used to the advanced processes we have today. I found it fairly intriguing that there were multiple separate technologies attached to the memex. The video definitely helped me visualize what Bush had been explaining throughout the articles.

I also watched the memex animation and I found that it really helped my understanding of all that it had to offer. I agree with your point how the memex seems complicated and complex compared to the advanced technology that we as a society are already used to.
