Crazy is a Compliment: The Power of Zigging While Everyone Else is Zagging

For this assignment I decided to take the framework of Taylor, Leffingwell, and the rise of the reengineers. The reason for this is because I am very passionate about entrepreneurship and I believe that some of the greatest entrepreneurial feats came from around the time of the reengineers. To find these books I typed in entrepreneurship books on Amazon, Google, and Bing.

The three books I looked at included: Crazy is a Compliment: The Power of Zigging While Everyone Else is Zagging, Empire State of Mind, and Lean In.

Crazy is a Compliment The Power of Zigging While Everyone Else is Zagging: Talks about Linda Rottenberg and her journey as an entrepreneur. It shows how she disrupted the world with her company Endeavor, as well as the advice she wants other entrepreneurs to know about.

Empire State of Mind: Talks about Jay-Z's rise from the streets to stardom. It details the struggles he faced and how he overcame them to become arguably the best rapper of all time.

Lean In: Follows the life of Cheryl Sandberg the COO of Facebook and shows how she overcame the obstacles women face in the work place. It also gives advice to women and how they can overcome the same obstacles.

I chose the book Crazy is a Complement because it is the most recent, has the best reviews, and the most scholarly articles. I also read the abstract and I liked the idea of how it covers the struggles and accomplishments of entrepreneurs and gives real world examples. This is similar to the rise of the reengineers article we read, except instead of just covering the accomplishments it also covers the struggles.

  1. These are some awesome book options Ryan. Everyone of them seemed like a book that has some useful yet interesting information to offer. I think the fact that this author offers real advice for entrepreneurs is especially resourceful.
