My name is Raechel Gulledge, and I'm just commencing my fourth and final year here at UW-Madison! I'm originally from a suburb of Chicago called Oswego, but I have no intention of ever moving back there long-term. I am a newly declared Human Development and Family Studies major in the School of Human Ecology, and I could not be more excited about that! It is incredibly comforting to finally have a final goal and something to strive towards.

On campus, I'm involved in a few different organizations, but the majority of my time is spent with Badger Cru, an interdenominational Christian organization on campus. Along with that, I volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of dane county and also with the Millennium soccer club. For hobbies, I enjoy running, skiing, road biking, and basically anything outdoors.
I'm looking forward to this year and learning more about the Information Society, as well as all of you as my peers!

Would you recommend others to go on mission trips? Yours sounded really exciting!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I think time abroad is an incredible experience that everyone should experience. However, incorporating that with unselfish desires to give and contribute to people who are substantially less fortunate than the standard American is something that I would encourage to be a part of any abroad experience (hence the mission trips). I've been to Ghana, Africa with Cru and I've even done state-side work, too. I think when I went to Africa, I left most of my heart there. Needless to say, I can't wait to get back. :) If you have the opportunity, go on a trip! :)
