My name is Ryan Haugland. I am from Roseville, MN. I am a Junior here at the University of Wisconsin Madison majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I am the President of Capital Management Club here on campus, which is a student run hedge fund(AKA we invest people's money for them). I am also the Vice President of Wish Makers on Campus. Outside of school I really like running, football, snorkeling, sailing eating, hiking, and napping.
This summer I was in Los Angeles, California doing Cyber security for a hedge fund. I lived on UCLA's campus and worked in Beverly Hills at Camden Asset Management. The most memorable part of my summer was learning to surf and spending a lot of time on Santa Monica Pier. I plan to move out to California right after school to hopefully start my own technology company.
I took LIS 201 to fill a Com B requirement, but I am very interested in technology as well. I believe this class will help me to understand how others use technology and how I can use it more effectively.
