Introduction- Kelsey Strode

Hi! My name is Kelsey Strode, and I am a senior majoring in Spanish and International Studies. I am from a suburb just north of Milwaukee along Lake Michigan called Whitefish Bay.

Spanish language and Spanish culture really interest me, and I spent last semester living with a host family and studying in Sevilla, Spain, which is a city in the southern region of Spain called AndalucĂa. I love to travel, and throughout the semester I traveled to 13 different places. My favorite places that I traveled to were Paris, Ireland and Portugal. This picture to the right from Sevilla, and it is a street of buildings along el rio Guadalquivir, which runs through the city, and the picture below is me at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.

Along with traveling, I love kids, and every year since I was nine years old I have spent part or all of my summer at Camp Minikani, which is a YMCA camp north of Milwaukee. I was a camper there from when I was nine until I was fourteen, then I was in a leadership training program for the next three years, and when I was eighteen I was hired to be a counselor. This summer I was the director of our Minicamp Program, which is a day camp for five and six year old kids.
(To the left is a picture of the waterfront at my camp.)

I am looking forward to this class and I think it will be very interesting to discuss information and technology in our society today.
