Cassie's Introduction

Hey everyone! My name's Cassie and I'm from a small suburb five minutes out of downtown Milwaukee. I am a sophomore here at UW-Madison and I plan on majoring in Biology and also going to med school. The high school I attended was fairly small so coming to Madison was definitely a change, but I absolutely love it (who doesn't though). This past summer I worked with my dad but mainly just spent time with my family and friends as much as I could. Even though I've lived in Wisconsin all my life I hate the cold weather. Although snow can be really pretty, I would much rather be at the beach. Surviving winter this year and walking to all my classes won't be fun, but being at this university is worth it.

I've played basketball and softball since third grade and I am currently playing intramural basketball here at UW. I love being active and going out for a run is one of my favorite hobbies. I also love animals, especially dogs! I did consider being a veterinarian at one point but decided I would get too attached to the pets so it wouldn't work out too well. I had a golden retriever since first grade that just passed away this last summer. I miss him every day but I'm glad he isn't suffering anymore from the illness he had. His name was Maverick and anyone that met him instantly fell in love with him.

In this class, I am looking forward to becoming more comfortable with speaking in front of an audience. I also wish to work on my papers a little more because they can always be improved. This class seems to be fun but also very informational so I am really excited to get into everything. I'm so excited to get to know you all throughout the semester! (:
